For Home Buyers

House buyers can access many reports to learn about a property’s condition and any issues that might affect its price or appeal. Since buying a home is often one of the biggest expenses, it’s important to gather as much information as possible.

However, buyers often don’t know about the noise and disruption caused by planes flying overhead, or how this could affect their enjoyment of the home. Unlike fixing home repairs, flight paths cannot be changed.

Plane noise varies by season, month, time, day, and airport operations, so a home visit won’t show the full impact. Some airports change flight paths regularly to reduce noise for certain areas.

Many people have bought homes only to find frequent aircraft noise affects their daily life. As air travel grows worldwide—expected to rise by over 30% in the next ten years with airport expansions—this problem may get worse.

My Flight Path’s Flight Blight Report offers a clear rating and detailed analysis of aircraft activity above a property. It uses vast data, covers over 190 million homes globally, and helps buyers make a fully informed choice before buying.

Flight Blight Score

The Flight Blight Rating is a simple score between 0-100 which is based on a complex algorithm involving the processing of over 100 million aviation data points.

The system pinpoints the location of a property and then looks at the volume of flights above it during the previous 12 months, their altitude, the type of aircraft and decibel impact.

The Flight Blight Report also provides a detailed analysis of the information which underpins the Flight Blight Rating.

For each property, the Report shows the volume of aircraft flying over a property for each of the previous 12 months, and the day of the week and time of day.

It also breaks out the aircraft by type, including commercial and leisure aircraft, business jets, military and others, and provides indicative decibel impact at ground level.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
