For Home Buyers
Property buyers routinely commission comprehensive reports before purchase – structural surveys, drainage assessments, environmental searches, conveyancing checks. When investing hundreds of thousands of pounds, thorough due diligence is essential.
Yet one critical factor remains consistently overlooked: aircraft noise and flight path impacts.
Unlike structural defects that can be repaired or disputes that can be resolved, flight paths are permanent. You cannot negotiate with aviation authorities or retrofit effective soundproofing. If you buy under a flight path, you live with the consequences indefinitely.
The challenge is detection. Aircraft activity varies dramatically – August sees nearly 50% more flights than February in the UK and USA. Time of day, day of week, wind direction, and airport procedures all influence which properties experience aircraft noise and when. Many airports regularly rotate runway usage, meaning flight paths shift periodically. A quiet February afternoon viewing reveals nothing about the summer morning reality.
Thousands of homebuyers discover this too late – after exchange, after the opportunity to reconsider has passed. With global aviation forecast to grow over 30% in the next decade and major airport expansions underway, the number of affected properties will only increase.
My Flight Path's Flight Blight Report eliminates this blind spot. Our comprehensive analysis provides a clear 0-100 rating and detailed breakdown of aircraft activity above any property, drawing on flight data covering over 190 million homes globally.
Buyers gain the complete picture – seasonal variations, daily patterns, noise levels, and flight corridor proximity – before making their largest financial commitment.
Flight Blight Score
The Flight Blight Rating is a simple score between 0-100 which is based on a complex algorithm involving the processing of over 100 million aviation data points.
The system pinpoints the location of a property and then looks at the volume of flights above it during the previous 12 months, their altitude, the type of aircraft and decibel impact.
Flight Blight Report
The Flight Blight Report also provides a detailed analysis of the information which underpins the Flight Blight Rating.
For each property, the Report shows the volume of aircraft flying over a property for each of the previous 12 months, and the day of the week and time of day.
It also breaks out the aircraft by type, including commercial and leisure aircraft, business jets, military and others, and provides indicative decibel impact at ground level.
